HireVue alternatives: eight tools and what each is for

Teams look past HireVue for different reasons: price transparency, a smaller team, or a different interview format. This roundup lists eight real options and says what each one is for, using only what the vendor says on its own website. Infyva is ours and is marked. There is no ranking, because the right pick depends on the job.

Roundup checked October 31, 2026 against each vendor's public website. Products change, so check their sites too.

First, what HireVue is

HireVue's site describes an AI hiring platform for large employers. It lists an AI Interviewer for screening interviews, assessments including game-based ones, video interviewing (live interviews with summaries and scores), a website chat agent, automation and scheduling, and ATS, HRIS and LMS integrations. It also lists security certifications. Its pricing page does not show prices; it offers a demo request and an ROI calculator instead. If you use only one or two of those pieces, a narrower tool can be enough. The pages below say what each narrower tool does. For a detailed side by side, see Infyva vs HireVue.

The alternatives

Listed alphabetically. Each entry uses facts from the vendor's own website, read on October 31, 2026.

Hireflix

  • Focuses on one-way video interviews: candidates record answers on their own time, with no app or account.
  • Publishes prices: Small is $75 a month and Medium is $150 a month, billed yearly, with unlimited seats, positions and responses and a one-month free trial.
  • Lists 16 named ATS integrations, plus Zapier, Make and a GraphQL API, and says it is SOC 2 compliant.

Infyva vs Hireflix

Infyva (ours)

  • Nova, an AI interviewer, asks each question aloud. Every candidate gets the same editable set of questions, and each answer is recorded, transcribed and scored against the job's competencies with written reasoning.
  • Three formats: the AI interview, the Live AI interview (a real-time voice conversation with follow-ups, on every paid plan at 0.5 credit a minute) and Vibe coding rounds on Pro and Enterprise.
  • Prices are public: a 14-day Pro trial, then $39 a month for 30 credits or $149 for 150, with unlimited seats and jobs.
  • Where it falls short of HireVue: no assessments, no live video with your own team, only booking links within your working hours for scheduling, no SOC 2 or ISO certification yet, and fewer direct integrations (Lever, Ashby and Workable, plus 30+ more through a partner on Enterprise).

Paradox

  • A conversational hiring platform built around an assistant called Olivia, with modules for applying, screening, scheduling, a conversational ATS and onboarding.
  • Says Olivia detects over 100 languages, and names Workday, SAP SuccessFactors and Indeed integrations.
  • Lists ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II on its security page. Pricing is not published.

Infyva vs Paradox

Ribbon

  • Describes AI voice interviews that run 24/7 on the candidate's schedule, with follow-up questions, recordings and custom scoring rubrics.
  • Sends invites and reminders by SMS, email and WhatsApp, and says it integrates with 60+ ATS.
  • Offers a 7-day free trial and shows no prices on its home page. Its site says it has signed an agreement to be acquired by Dayforce.

Infyva vs Ribbon

Sapia.ai

  • Runs a text chat interview: five structured questions, untimed, with no video or voice. Candidates are scored on a role competency model and get a ranked shortlist.
  • Every candidate receives personalised insights and coaching tips.
  • Lists SOC 2 Type 2 and several ISO standards. Pricing is per hire, is not published, and the site says it suits companies hiring more than 500 people a year.

Infyva vs Sapia.ai

Spark Hire

  • Sells an applicant tracking system, one-way and live video interviews, and a behavioral assessment, aimed at small and medium organizations.
  • Video interviews start at $249 a month billed annually, or $299 monthly (limited to 5 jobs and 5 users), with unlimited live and one-way interviews.
  • Lists 40+ ATS integrations for video interviews; its home page says it integrates with 100+ providers. Some HR system integrations are a paid add-on.

Infyva vs Spark Hire

VidCruiter

  • A suite covering pre-recorded and live video interviews, scheduling, automated reference checks, skills testing, proctoring and an ATS.
  • Lists AI screening of responses and AI notes. An AI Interviewer is shown as coming soon.

Infyva vs VidCruiter

Willo

  • Candidates answer with video, written text, file uploads or multiple choice, from a library of 1,500+ assessments or your own questions.
  • Willo Lite is 49 pounds per live role with no contract; Willo Enterprise starts at 2,999 pounds a year.
  • Lists 50+ native integrations, ISO 27001, and ID, right-to-work and background checks.

Questions to ask any vendor

  • What is the price for my volume? Ask for a written quote for your expected number of interviews and roles, including add-ons such as integrations and single sign-on. Some vendors on this list charge extra for those.
  • Who judges the answers? Some tools leave judging to your team, some add summaries or scores. Ask to see how a score is explained, and whether you can check it against the original answer.
  • What happens to candidate data? Ask about retention, deletion after you cancel, and where data is stored. Spark Hire, for example, says it commits to storing your information for up to 30 days after cancellation.
  • What is live today? Features marked coming soon are not features. Ask for a demo of the version you would use.
  • Which certifications does procurement need? They differ a lot from one vendor to the next, and Infyva does not have SOC 2 or ISO 27001 yet.

How to choose

Start with the part of HireVue you actually use. If it is the first-round interview, you have several choices that differ in format. A spoken AI interview (Infyva, Ribbon) lets you hear the answer. A text chat (Sapia.ai) suits candidates who prefer typing. Recorded video (Hireflix, Spark Hire, Willo, VidCruiter) leaves the judging to your team, with AI help in some products. A conversational assistant (Paradox) works earlier in the funnel.

If you use assessments, live video and scheduling together, a suite such as VidCruiter or Spark Hire's applicant tracking system covers more ground than a single-purpose tool. If procurement requires specific certifications, check each vendor's security page, since they differ a lot. And if price matters, note which vendors publish it: Hireflix, Spark Hire, Willo and Infyva do, and HireVue, Paradox, Sapia.ai and VidCruiter ask you to talk to them first.

Whatever you pick, run a real trial with your own job. Our AI interview software guide has a buyer checklist, and our Local Law 144 guide covers what to ask any vendor if you hire in New York City.

Frequently asked questions

Why look for a HireVue alternative?

Common reasons are price transparency, a smaller team that does not need a full suite, or a different interview format. HireVue does not publish prices on its pricing page, which asks you to request a demo, as of October 31, 2026. It also covers a lot: assessments, live video, scheduling and more. Some teams only need one of those.

Which alternative is the closest match to HireVue?

For breadth, VidCruiter is the closest on its site, with video interviews, scheduling, assessments, reference checks and an ATS under one roof. For an AI interviewer specifically, look at Infyva, Ribbon and Sapia, which run the interview themselves in different formats. Which is closest depends on which part of HireVue you use.

Is Infyva a fair pick on a list written by Infyva?

Treat it with the same caution as any vendor page. Infyva is marked as ours, every other entry links to the vendor's own website, and we say where Infyva falls short: it has no assessments, no SOC 2 or ISO certification yet, and fewer integrations than the larger suites.
